As for good books to read: One just for the sheer enjoyment of it is a children’s book entitled “Maniac McGee”. Although it is written for youth, there are some tremendous adult ideas that could be learned as a young boy of 11 teaches a whole town what it means to be “color blind” as he brings the two sides of town together, the one being white and the other black.

Daniel Pink, author of “A Whole New Mind” expands on what type of thinking is less susceptible to the jobs exodus to Asia. Pink covers the implications of Asia, Automation and Abundance as the foundation of his book. Building upon this foundation he tells a story where he discusses six main topics that show relevance to each of us, particularly, as leaders and provides guidelines help gain skills and insight in each key topic area.

Although the book doesn’t discuss leadership specifically the conclusions will apply to how people and organizations will adapt to be successful.

Simply, this book is a must read.
