A few months back I wrote a post about the best-selling book The New Rules of Marketing and PR by David Meerman Scott. David is a thought leadership and viral marketing strategist. He has written several ebooks that have been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times. He teaches people how to get noticed online through creating information yourself and spreading the ideas or concepts to the world.
Yesterday I had the singular opportunity of participating in a podcast with David Meerman Scott. The podcast is part of Dr. Paul’s series called Live on Purpose Radio. We had a great conversation about the old rules of marketing, the New Rules of marketing, thought leadership, viral marketing and other important concepts such as making valuable content available for free. It was fun to participate and a great opportunity for me to ask questions and learn from the thought leader in viral marketing. Thank you David!
I encourage you to listen to the podcast and leave your comments about your successes with the New Rules of Marketing. You can download the podcast on iTunes or listen to it here:

Michael, excellent podcast. I especially appreciated the idea that one small thing can create an epidemic (to use Scott’s viral analogy). What a great way to create value for others by giving “freely” of oneself and still enjoy exponential returns.
Thanks! Jamee Adams

One more thing- I recently read Malcolm Gladwell’s “Tipping Point” which discusses the viral epidemic from a broader and more social viewpoint, but with a very similar thread. If you like this concept, I recommend his book as well. -Jamee Adams

I enjoyed this podcast as much as anyone – what a kick to venture into an industry that is new for me, and to spend that time with two powerful thought leaders.

Jamee, Thank you for listening to the podcast. David’s insight about spreading ideas virally is incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the podcast.
I agree with your comment about the similarities “The Tipping Point” has with David’s ideas (I read it a few years back). It focuses on how trends come about in amazing ways. One of the things I love about David’s book is he helps us understand how we can be the driver behind the trends; how we can make it happen. -Michael

Dr. Paul, thank you for having me on your show. You added an important depth of discussion to the podcast to help people apply David’s ideas in their lives. Your ability to bring out and enhance ideas for those who may not be in business or marketing is uncanny. Our podcast is valuable to a wide audience because of your insight. -Michael
