Why emotional intelligence is essential to leadership

What makes a good leader? Experience? Vision? Knowledge? These traits are all traditionally associated with effective managers. But nowadays, there’s another factor that is slowly gaining reputation in the workplace: Emotional Intelligence.

It’s been a big buzzword recently, but what does it actually mean? And how can we apply it to our organizations? Leadership among peers requires a certain emotional quotient. Improving management effectiveness

One of the primary themes of Lead on Purpose is leading effectively regardless of whether you are in a position of authority – in a ‘management’ position. That will continue to be a primary topic for this blog. However, I was recently introduced to a new tool that will help managers and leaders of small to large groups direct their teams more effectively. The tool is called ThEME.

Sometimes it’s tough to get any one thing done. Technology is great, and it’s supposed to help us, but it can get in the way of productivity.
